With the busy Christmas getting under way, we see the first round of mid-week fixtures. Some big games are taking place in the next three weeks, so watch this space for match reports, scores and big news.
We start with the Tuesday’s fixtures and one of the biggest results was Burnley’s one, nil win over Stoke. This briefly placed the Clarets into the Prem’s top four. Can they stay there? Yes, in my opinion. As they have Sean Dyche (arguably one of the best managers in the Prem) it certainly looks a possible. It would also be a great advert for England’s first tier. Showing that a small team doing well wasn’t a one time thing. What do you think? There will be a pole going up on my Instagram so you can give your opinion. Palace also had a great win, moving them out of the bottom three for the first time this year. Although they were lately returned to 18th after West Brom drew with Liverpool. I think they can definitely stay up as Roy Hodgson is a great manager and can take them to great heights. Another pole will go on my Instagram about this question.
Now onto the Wednesday games, Leicester took a 4-1 victory over Southampton. Frankly Saints were appalling. Could hardly string three passes together let alone find four comeback goals. The other highlight game was Man City’s 4-0 win over Swansea. Top vs bottom and there is no question why City are first. Their quick, dynamic football was credited with 4 well worked goals.
I look forward to some great footy over this winter and follow me on Instagram and add me on Snapchat (both @jamiesportsblog) to keep up to date with all sporting news.
