A brilliant 5th day summed the whole game for both teams. England on top and South Africa not at their best. At the 100th test at the Oval it was sure to be an absolute thriller.
It all started off with Temba Bavuma and Dean Elgar, with Elgar resuming on a very, very respectable 72 not out. The score was extended to 160 until Toby Roland-Jones made the breakthrough when he trapped Bavuma in front for a decent 32. Philander quickly followed one ball later getting out LBW not playing a shot, Just like his captain. Then just before lunch Moeen got Morris out for 24 caught by stokes in the slips but did they know this would lead to a lot more wickets later. Meanwhile Dean Elgar passed a brilliant hundred although this would turn out to be in vain it was a brilliant innings. Him and Maharaj took the score to 252, putting on 47, until Moeen made the breakthrough, Elgar was caught Stokes, bowled Moeen for an amazing 136, Rabada was finished the exact same way very next ball for nought. So Moeen was on a hat-rick to win the game and make the first ever hat-rick at the Oval. He has bowled it and it has struck Morkel on the pad and is given not out. England review it and it is out England win it.
The weather at Old Trafford for the 4th test is supposed to be awful so let us hope we actually get some play in before the rain wins. But England have retained the trophy so we will see what happens.
